WASH YOUR JEANS

- Why you should wash your jeans

The process of washing prolongs the life of your jeans by maintaining the tensile* strength of the cotton fibre. Through wear, your skin’s sweat, debris, odour and other secretions are absorbed in the cotton and trigger bacterial growth. This results in fabric deterioration. Washing keeps your favourite pair clean and fresh, and prevents blowouts, stretching and loose shape for longer.

———COTTON LOVES WATER———

It can absorb up to 72 times its weight

- How to best wash your jeans

If you just bought your jeans and you want the creases, wrinkles and signs of wear, it is recommended to pop them in the wash after the first 6 months. After the first wash the worn parts are noticeable and the indigo dye produces layers of contrast and tones.

Washing techniques

  • Wash your jeans inside out, ensuring turn ups are rolled down

  • Use mild detergent. Denim detergents are formulated specifically to help reduce indigo colour loss and maintain cotton fibre quality.

——— we developed our own denim wash, with longevity of your jeans being our main priority. Formulated to gentle cleanse and refresh your denim while preserving original colour intensity and cotton fibre quality ———

  • We recommend hand soak - Fill basin/bath with warm water and add the recommended amount of detergent. Soak for 30 minutes.Rinse with cold water and drain. Smooth creases and flat/air dry-positive impact in reducing microbial load and malodour.

  • Machine washing- Hand/gentle setting, max 30°C

    ———Never tumble dry———

it damages the jeans and decreases the tensile strength of the fibre due to the mechanic agitation. Cotton fibre shrinks twice as much as air drying

*Tensile - tensile strength is the maximum stress that a material can withstand while being stretched or pulled before breaking
